A labor of love
Our friend, Bruce, a carpenter in the UK, came to contribute his time and talents to our project for a few weeks. Upon removing the carpet in the living room, we discovered that the thick layer of carpet glue was still tacky, and couldn’t be sanded away like we had done in the rest of the house. This meant hours of hand scraping the glue off with a chisel. Bruce then skillfully patched the portions of the floor where walls once stood. It takes a keen eye to now distinguish which sections are patched, and which are original. Thank you, Bruce! We are so grateful for your contribution to the restoration of our home.
